In her role as the shoe-loving, fashionista Carrie Bradshaw on six seasons of “Sex and the City,” Sarah Jessica Parker reserved her lust and reverie for two words, “Manolo Blahnik,” the luxury shoe brand. Now, with business partner George Malkemus, who just happens to be the CEO of Blahnik, she’s launching her very own brand of .?.?. yep .?.?. shoes.
The SJP collection will hit Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com on Feb. 28. There are 25 styles and prices of the made-in-Italy line range from $195 to $500.
"I've taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the 'Sex and the City' wardrobe, to references to classic styles from the late '70s and early '80s. I'm a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come," said the 48-year-old actress in a statement.
Along with the shoes, there are SJP handbags retailing for $245 to $375 and a figure-flattering trench coat in navy and tan that sells for $495.
This is not Parker’s first foray into designing. A way back, she designed a discount line, Bitten, sold at Steve and Barry’s, and more recently, she was the president of Halston Heritage though the relationship ended in 2011. But as they say, when one door closes, another shoe box opens.
