Tory Burch traveled back in time to the chic French seaside resort of Deauville, 1920s, as inspiration for her polished sporty, spring collection.
Stripes ruled this runway. Ribbed shorts in beige with navy stripes were jauntily paired with everything from a striped polo to airy raffia tops to a silk fringy jacket. A tiny, ruffled ivory-and-navy striped bathing skirt and matching tie-front top were darling.
Feather-light silk sweatshirts and cardigans will be sought-after toppers for spring, while dresses with dropped waists and peppy patterns – polka dots and floral prints – were easy wearing. A sequinned number with wavy stripes was a knockout, however sometimes Burch was too heavy-handed with embellishments.
Overall, Burch captured the era and the chic seaside vibe.
