Models with Rita Hayworth hair donned the designer’s classic day looks – tailored dresses that smacked of the ‘40’s with their knee-grazing lengths and neat, conservative lines – – a navy wrap (perfect), and suits– an emerald tweed (with a fur border). It all seemed out of an old time spy novel, though some of the color combos might hinder going incognito – um, cinnamon and magenta? Coats were a luxury blast, some amped up with fur and fabric collages, others embellished to the hilt, the black jacquard with giant flowers – so pretty. Evening, as always, was a froth fest – though this season, slimmer, more body conscious for sexy screen sirens. A champagne tulle and metallic ribbon gown with a small sable stole – heaven.
