As if we needed another excuse to shop at Saks Fifth Avenue, the glam department store at Walt Whitman Shops is offering a charitable incentive.

From Feb. 1-29, five percent of all registered purchases made with a Saks Fifth Avenue credit card will go to one of four local charities.

Shoppers get to choose which charity their money goes to, at no cost to them.

The four charities are:

The ELIJA Foundation for Children with AutismThis Levittown-based organization works to educate the Long Island community about autism in order to improve the quality of programs and services available to children and families affected. A national non-profit organization dedicated to keeping children safe in and around motor vehicles.

Ronald McDonald House of Long Island: Provides support for families with a child undergoing medial treatments at local hospitals.

Tom Collins/Chris Panatier 9/11 Memorial Foundation: Has constructed a memorial garden at Half Hollow Hills High School East and awarded scholarships to local students in memory of two Long Island men lost on Sept. 11, 2001. will also donate 5 percent of online purchases made with a registered Saks card to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the length of the program.
