Hail Heart Truth’s Red Dress runway show, the annual feel-good romp, which drew a celebrity-packed catwalk and an enthusiastic audience Wednesday night, kicking off Fashion Week on a very high note.

Twenty-two celebrity models of different ages, shapes and sizes wore red dresses created by top designers to help focus national awareness on women and heart disease.

Among them:  Diva queen Patti Labelle owned the runway in a kimono-like Zang Toi.  Dita von Teese flaunted her (holy smokes) dangerous curves in Zac Posen. Also showing off her bod – in a totally different way – Laila Ali, complete with baby bump, wearing clinging A Pea in a Pod.

There was elegant Ann Curry in Carmen Marc Valvo, super strutter Taraji P. Henson in Naeem Kahn, and Suzanne Somers in a skater-like mini dress with bejeweled waist by Ina Soltani.  Natasha Bedingfield rocked her low-cut Nicole Miller dress and then rocked the crowd with a finale song.

And let’s not forget Camila Alves, who smoldered in a slinky red KaufmanFranco number.  Her man seemed to think so too. Matthew McConaughey virtually lay on the red runway with his video camera, filming Alves’ entire walk.  He was grinning from ear to ear.
