It was a morning melee at Tory Burch’s presentation where the designer said she was inspired by “Fashion and art and the way those two worlds influence each other. These are girls who go to the art gallery, anyplace in the world.”

Indeed, her eclectic collection had a quirky energy -- paint spattered skinny pants, cool distressed leather jackets, hooded oilskin anoraks -- some of the rugged stuff paired with sequins. A cute zip on sweater coat in purple is hemmed with feathers, and one black knit shouted the word “divine,” in homage to Burch’s mom, whom she said uses it five times in one sentence.

Also, no discernible Tory “T” logos on the cute high-heeled work boots with rubber soles.
