As designers stress backstage, makeup teams rush to get models runway-ready and journalists sprint from show to show, Vivienne Tam brings an oasis of serenity to Lincoln Center right in the middle of Fashion Week.

With her runway show out of the way, the designer teamed up with Chinese Olympic gymnast Li-Ning to display her upcoming line of yoga gear, using a live sculpture garden. While other models strutted the catwalk, these 20 leading female yogis showed off the colorful clothes in Downward-Facing Dog.

"I call it 'Fashion Yoga,' '" Tam says. "I haven't been able to find yoga clothes I really like since the '90s. I wanted to make something people will really enjoy practicing yoga in, something they can wear inside and out of the yoga studio."

The on-trend, color-blocked collection (consisting mostly of purples, greens, blues and fuschias) is made of eco-friendly hemp and organic cotton with natural deodorization technology.

Tam said she designed the clothing with OM graphics, pointing up to the sky like so many yoga positions do, as a reminder to "gain empowerment through the universe and find harmony within your surroundings."

All that while allowing you to pick up the kids or meet with friends straight from yoga class. Namaste.
