So on Monday I received the first catalog of the season, the always-beautiful entry from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.
Its 2012 catalog is just as eye-catching as ever, this time sporting a watermelon illustration on its cover.
A quick flip-through revealed a crazy crayon-purple tomato, which, upon closer look, doesn't really exist. It's on the page to illustrate the company's stand against genetically modified foods, or GMOs. (You can read my coverage of GMOs here.)
The next thing that caught my eye was a shot of purple Asian beans and some cool-looking turnips. The photography in this catalog is absolutely mouth-watering.
After the new year, when my mailbox begins to overflow with catalogs, I'll get into specifics about each and fill you in on what looks order-worthy to me.
Have you received any catalogs yet? Let me know what you got and what looks good.
