Gardening in a yellow thong gets the green light

The Colorado woman I told you about a while back who does her gardening wearing only a yellow thong and pink gloves (OK, sometimes pasties) has gotten official permission to do so, according to The Associated Press.

Catharine Pierce, who was sued by her landlords after their repeated pleas for her to cover up went ignored, got her vindication last week from Boulder Housing Partners when it decided not to include female toplessness in its ban on public nudity.

The housing authority had threatened to evict Pierce, 52, and her husband, Robert, who also dons a thong in the garden, after neighbors and passersby complained. Unfortunately, there's no photo available of the couple in full gardening regalia, but they posed for the photo above to express feelings of oppression when they were protesting the protests.

All this comes just in time for the 5th annual World Naked Gardening Day, which rolls around on May 8. The WNGD organization are encouraging people to spend the day tending "their portion of the world's garden clothed as nature intended."
