What if you want to access your Gmail messages when you aren't connected to the Internet? Now you can.
1. When connected to the Internet, log into your account at Gmail.com. Click on "Settings" in the upper right corner of the page. Click the "Offline" tab, then "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen.
2. You will be prompted to install offline access for Gmail. Click the link and follow the instructions to install offline access for Gmail, and, if necessary, to install Google Gears. Choose to install a desktop shortcut.
3. You'll be prompted to restart your browser. Then your Gmail inbox should reappear and Gmail will install offline access and synchronize your e-mail. Once it's done, you're ready to go. The next time you're offline, double-click on the Gmail shortcut and you can access all of your e-mail.
