Kidsday: Cody Simpson and his doll

We met singer Cody Simpson at the Toys R Us store in Times Square a few weeks ago. Besides being big fans of his, we were among the first kids to get his new Cody Simpson doll (The Wish Factory).

We think the doll is really cool. Cody told us that the clothes the doll is wearing are styled after the clothing he likes, right down to the cool sneakers. We like that the doll comes with a microphone and sunglasses. We like that you can pose it by moving the doll's arms and legs. It gives him the rock star look. Most of all, it really looks like him. We think this will become a special collectible because Cody has so many fans.

There are two versions of this doll. One features a Gold Coast T-shirt and khakis, and the other features a denim jacket and black pants.

We asked Cody about the design of the doll. Cody said, "Actually, I did get to help very much in the design of the Cody doll. I made sure the clothes were cool and everything. This is stuff that I would wear and the outfits are based on the designs of the clothes that I've actually worn before. Like, we have the same pants on at the moment. So that's cool."

We wanted to know where the idea came from for the doll. He said, "At first I didn't really believe it to be possible for me to do, but when Toys R Us and the Wish Factory approached me about it, it was like it's almost something you can't say no to. I just thought it would be one of the coolest experiences of my year."
