Runners rule on Shelter Island -- at least on Saturday. The island's popular annual 10k run starts at 5:30 p.m. sharp at the roundabout on School Street. Olympians Frank Shorter, Joan Benoit-Samuelson, Bill Rodgers and Keith Brantly will lead pace groups. A post-race party follows at Island Boatyard with live music and a free barbecue for runners.
