Expelliarmus! Long Island’s “Harry Potter” fans will be put under a spell this summer with two new events inspired by the series of books and movies.

On June 11, Pottercon will be held at The Paramount in Huntington from 2-8 p.m. The adults-only crowd can tap into its inner wizard with a sorting ceremony, costume contest, O.W.L. (ordinary wizard level) trivia plus “Potter” swag and specialty cocktails.

Tickets are $20 and go on sale at noon Friday, March 17 (631-673-7300, paramountny.com).

On July 8-9, “Pomynauk Academy” welcomes students to its world of witchcraft and wizardry at Old Bethpage Restoration Village. Here, students go through a sorting ceremony to determine which house they belong to (Heartly, Amador, Silkweaver and Van Drakma) — and then spend the rest of the day winning points for their house. There’s wizardry classes, a collective lunchtime feast and a ceremonial House Cup closing event. A vendor room will be available for shoppers.

Tickets start at $50 for advance-purchase student packages that include a mailed acceptance letter, wand and workshops. “Muggle” tickets ($20 adults, $12 ages 5-10) will be sold at the gate for access to vendors and programming, but not workshops. Details at twitchtwitchproductions.com.
