The summer maybe be coming to a close, but there’s still plenty of live events to check out to keep the fun going. From a Long Island celebrity stopping through on his comedy tour to rockers jamming at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, here are shows and concerts not to miss this weekend:

FRIDAY, AUG. 19

Led by original singer Victor Willis, the Village People, famed for disco super-hits like “YMCA” and “Macho Man,” will be playing the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m.

SATURDAY, AUG 20

The Long Island Bluegrass and Roots Music Festival taking place at Tanner Park from noon to 8 p.m., is more than just a chance to listen to the music. “It's a beautiful and relaxing day on the Great South Bay,” says Liz Mirarchi, executive director of Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts. Mirarchi also notes “there will be food trucks, beer, and lawn games,” adding to “bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy.” Marking its 20th year, the show kicks off with music by members of the Bluegrass Club of Long Island, with other bands slated to play including Compton and Newberry, Jim Hurst, Buddy Merriam and Miles to Dayton before Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks close the day with dancing until 8 p.m.

Known for chart-topping hits such as “Slide" and “Iris,” the Buffalo-born rockers will perform at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater with opening act Blue October; doors open at 7:30 p.m.

This artist has been performing since the 1950s and continues to take the stage. “The Voice of Romance” tour comes to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury at 8 p.m.

Before starring in TV’s “The King of Queens,” "Kevin Can Wait" and movies like “Grown-Ups” and the “Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” the Ward Melville High School grad made a name for himself as a comic. His current comedy tour stops at The Paramount at 7:30 p.m.
