Nassau and Suffolk anniversaries

61stROSE AND JOHN BALSAN of Manorville, formerly of Levittown, were wed April 2, 1952, in the Bronx, when John was on a short leave from military service. He is an Army veteran who served in Korea. John is retired from White Castle Systems Inc. and Northrop Grumman in Bethpage. Rose is a homemaker who loves gardening and trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. They have four children and eight grandchildren.

55thMARY ANN AND JIM LEVY of Inwood were wed April 13, 1958. They celebrated with a dinner with family and a trip is planned for the summer. Jim is retired from the MTA (LI Bus). He is a former chief of the Inwood Fire Department and still active in the department. Mary Ann is a retired dental assistant. They have three daughters and eight grandchildren.


WALDBAUER of North Patchogue were wed March 23, 1963. They celebrated at home with family because George had a broken hand and a broken leg. He is a retired sergeant with Suffolk County Police Department and is director of Suffolk County Police Athletic League. Ronnie is a retired labor and delivery nurse at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center. They have three children and five grandchildren.

50thSARITA AND RON BERKENBLIT of Long Beach were wed March 23, 1963, at the Park Manor in Brooklyn. A celebratory trip is planned for the summer. They both retired from the New York City school system. Ron was an assistant principal and Sarita was a teacher. They have three children and five grandchildren.

50thSHELLY AND VICTOR KLEIN, longtime residents of Hewlett, were wed Dec. 29, 1962, in Brooklyn. They celebrated with their four children, their spouses and 11 grandchildren. Shelly is a retired New York City schoolteacher and has been active in real estate sales for Jan Kalman Realty. Victor is a closeout broker selling to the discount trade. Both enjoy being with their grandkids, who all live locally on Long Island.
