A cow escaped a slaughterhouse in Jamaica, Queens, on Friday, April 1, 2016. An NYPD spokeswoman said a slaughterhouse near the college's Jamaica campus was unloading the cow from a truck when it broke loose about 10 a.m. The animal ran down the street and into a fenced-in grassy field near 160th Street and Liberty Avenue. The cow will live out its days at an upstate refuge, thanks to Jon Stewart, the former host of "The Daily Show" and his wife, Tracey, who picked up the creature from a Brooklyn animal control center, where it was brought after its capture, and will bring the lucky escapee to the Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, the sanctuary said in a statement.
