After many rumors of what would be the eventual fate of Exile Bar & Grill in Amagansett, its future was revealed during a recent trip down Main Street: A "For Lease" sign hangs in the window of the former trendy restaurant.

Exile arrived quietly during the 2009-2010 winter, but quickly became a hopping hub -- a place where the menu of summery plates served with Mediterranean inspiration was matched by the energy of the crowd that stuck around for late cocktails on weekends, even during the winter (a rare find in the Hamptons).

If you were a big fan of the Exile fare, however, the good news is that a few of its dishes have moved to a different venue. It turns out that the proprietors are also the owners of The Meeting House (also in Amagansett) and, recognizing the popularity of the Exile menu, have incorporated some of its specialties into the Meeting House selections. The surviving choices include the "House Made Pappardelle Exile Bolognese" and the "Exile Chicken Soup."
