Amicale, which received a three-star rating in Newsday last year, has a new chef.
Nery Aguirre, who has been part of the cooking team at Amicale, takes over from George Echeverria, former chef and co-owner. Echeverria, who is now chef at Andiamo in Mineola, no longer is associated with Amicale. Gonzalo Moreno, former business partner with Echeverria, now runs the restaurant.
The menu at the continental-New American restaurant remains unchanged. Amicale is in the former home of Panama Hatties.
