Andrea's 25 in Woodbury: First bites

Andrea's 25 in Woodbury follows Andrea's 25 in Commack. That's both good and bad.

On the upside: the second Andrea's 25 has moved into the Woodbury Commons site vacated by Graffiti, raising possibilities. Downside: It's as uneven as the original.

This Andrea's 25 does have a friendlier and more competent group of waiters. But the careless front-of-the-room welcoming committee could prompt an immediate about-face. The site does have a few al fresco tables.

But the food rarely rises above routine. The shrimp and crab meat cocktail is fine. But almost all the hot food tasted, however, disappoints: lukewarm broccoli rabe-and-sausage egg rolls, dull stuffed mushrooms, standard-issue eggplant rollatine.

Maybe they need more time. Meanwhile, don't desert your local pizzeria.

Andrea's 25, 8285 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury; 516-224-4663.
