Beerfest Saturday at Nassau Coliseum

Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum hosts its sixth Spring Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, with more than 50 brewers participating.

Online, tickets are $45; at the box office Saturday, $55. The charge for designated drivers is $12. Attendees must be at least 21 years old.

There will be two sessions. The first goes from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., with doors opening at noon; the second, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with doors open at 5 p.m.

Charities also will be fundraising at the March 10 event. The festival will contribute matching funds. The charities are the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Beers for Brains Foundation against brain cancer, and the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund.

Breweries at the event will be from Long Island and nationwide. The festival exhibit hall will include a beer garden, a menu of beer-related fare, plus giveaways. The admission price includes a 6-oz. souvenir tasting glass and 2-oz. samples from any exhibiting brewery.
