Blue Canoe Oyster Bar has opened in the Greenport spot that for decades housed the Chowder Pot Pub. It’s one of the prettiest spots in the village, overlooking the harbor and Shelter Island beyond.
The restaurant is owned by Lisa and Terry Harwood, who also own Shelter Island’s well-regarded Vine Street Café. Terry Harwood is the executive chef at both restaurants. His menu is casual, with a few sushi and raw-bar items, some pasta, some barbecue, burgers and sandwiches. Most items are under $20
