Blue Duck Bakery Café has opened a fourth location, this one in the Greenport building that used to house Mali B Sweets on Front Street.
Blue Duck, owned by Keith and Nancy Kouris, is Long Island’s leading producer of artisanal breads, all of which are baked in Southold. The other three locations — Southampton, Riverhead and, now, Greenport — are cafes that sell the bread as well as pastries, cakes, cookies, sandwiches and soup, all made on the premises. You would be hard pressed to find a better baguette or rye bread than Blue Duck's. Last year, the bakery's Finnish sourdough rye, ruisleipa, was named by Saveur Magazine as one of the country’s best 20 breads.
