Bliss2 (squared) in Blue Point was recently taken from a higher power to a lower price point. The restaurant, which closed briefly for a mini-makeover, has reopened under the name Bluepoint Bar & Grill. Owner Ron Hoffman said that while Bliss2 was doing well on weekends, week nights were slow. “The area was looking for something that was more affordable on an every day basis,” Hoffman said.
Hence this more casual spot. Chef Danny Avalos is still in charge of the kitchen, serving appetizers (like macaroni and cheese) half and full portions of pasta (such as spaghetti and meatballs), entrees (chicken stuffed with goat cheese and spinach; pot roast), flatbreads and risotto (three varieties). There's also a burger. All desserts are house-made. And nothing on the menu exceeds $19.
Bluepoint Bar & Grill is at 154 Montauk Hwy., Blue Point, 631-419-6850.
