Magic Taco Corp. in Islip Terrace has just started serving breakfast, available Monday to Friday from 7 to 10 a.m. The little roadside shack with minimal indoor seating and a few outdoor tables received a three-star rating in August.
Co-chef/owner Steven Scalesse was also profiled in Newsday’s All-Star chef series as chef-owner of Tullulah’s in Bay Shore; his partner and fellow chef, Devin Delgado, cooked at Tullulah's as well. What they're all about at Magic Taco Corp. is the imaginative use of carefully sourced ingredients.
Some items on their new breakfast menu: duck fat hash browns with mixed mushrooms, avocado and burrata cheese ($8), cheesy creamed masa porridge served with braised kale and roasted spiced pumpkins ($6) and breakfast tacos with scrambled or fried eggs plus toppings ($4).
