There’s a new Mexican street food stop near the Mineola train station: Burrito Blvd., a fast-casual place serving tacos, burritos and quesadillas.

The restaurant from brothers Joe (Giuseppe) and Pat (Pasquale Jr.) Vetrano, Burrito Blvd. is a new genre for the founders of SkinnyPizza, which has eateries in Roslyn Heights and Garden City. More recently, the brothers opened Spaghettini Pizza Trattoria, also in Mineola.

“We’re excited about the development of Mineola,” said Joe Vetrano. He now lives in Roslyn Heights, but he grew up in Mineola and his brother still lives there.

Vetrano said it took eight months to research, test recipes and source ingredients for the new restaurant. The extra time paid off, he said, citing sources such as a Queens-based tortilleria that’s delivering corn tortillas daily. The Vetrano brothers are also partners with their father, Pasquale, and their mother, Lucia, in managing Papa Ciro’s Pizza and Pasta in New Hyde Park, a full service restaurant.

Tacos (3 to an order) or a burrito with chicken, pork, steak or rice and beans cost $8.25 to $10.

Burrito Blvd. is at 98 Mineola Blvd., 516-746-2420, burritoblvd.com. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed Sunday.
