C&C Baking Factory has taken over the Babylon storefront that was Jacqueline’s Patisserie. The C and C in question are Christian and Courtney Dyckman, a young couple juggling their first child and first business.
Christian spent more than a dozen years working in (and running) cafes and bakeries in New England before moving back to his native Long Island to bake at Huntington’s Sip Tea Lounge in 2013. At C&C, he is baking some of his greatest hits from Sip, including the Elvis brownie that is based on the sandwich — bananas and peanut butter on toast (sometimes with bacon) — that was reputedly the King of Rock and Roll’s favorite. Christian’s tribute has bananas inside and peanut butter frosting on top. Other specialty brownies include s’mores, cream cheese and fresh raspberry, $3 to $3.50.
C&C pies ($17 to $19) and cakes ($20 to $30) are all available by the slice ($3 to $3.25) so they can be eaten at one of the 10 seats in the cozy dining area, along with a cup of fresh-brewed Southdown coffee.
C&C Baking Factory, open Tuesday to Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is at 199 E. Main St., Babylon, 631-526-9992.
