Stew Leonard's Wines moves into a new and expanded shop April 15. The store will highlight more than 1,000 bottles for less than $15 each.

The bigger shop is in the Parkway Plaza shopping center, where Stew Leonard's Wines had opened a smaller one in 2009. Stew Leonard's also operates a wine store in Farmingdale. That shop will remain open.

Cristina Mariani-May, proprietor of Castello Banfi in Tuscany and co-chief executive of Banfi Vintners, the major importer based in Old Brookville, will be at the shop from 4  to 6 p.m., April 15, for a tasting of Banfi wines, including the house's respected Brunello di Montalcino.

The next day, actor Steve Schirripa, best known for his role as Bobby Bacala in "The Sopranos," is slated to appear at the shop, autographing bottles of "Sopranos Wines." He'll be there from 1 to 3 p.m. And on April 17, Kathy Benziger of Benziger Family Winery, is scheduled to visit from 1 to 4 p.m., with a selection of the winery's certified sustainable, organic or biodynamic wines.

The retail store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
