Though we’re safely past blizzard season, free treats may lure you to the home of the Blizzard: Tuesday, March 15, is Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen.

Visit a Long Island location (Massapequa, Levittown, Huntington) between 10 a.m. to closing to get your free small vanilla soft-serve cone — limit one per customer.

The promotion is the company’s push for patrons to donate to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, for which it has raised $110 million since 1984. Local donations go to Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York in New Hyde Park.

Dairy Queen was founded in Joliet, Illinois, in 1940. Today, the Minnesota-based company oversees more than 6,000 locations, with over 1,000 beyond North America.
