While you won't find a Long Island branch of Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger in Paradise chain, you can get a fine cheeseburger plus a laid-back tropical vibe at each of these casual spots.

ZimZari California Coastal Grill, 4964 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park, 516-809-6960

Life's a beach at this surfer-themed Cal-Mex eatery where the bacon-Cheddar burger (half a pound of Angus beef) features applewood-smoked bacon, BBQ sauce, lettuce and tomatoes.

Cost: $7.25

Shipwreck Tavern, 10 Bayville Ave., Bayville, 516-628-2628

In a kitschy, nautical setting across from Long Island Sound, grab a table near the outdoor tiki bar on the deck. Then, sink your teeth into a grilled 8-ounce Angus cheeseburger paired with great hand-cut fries.

Cost: $12

Hurricane Grill & Wings, 1037 Rte. 112, Port Jefferson Station, 631-509-1288

A Key West vibe informs this Port Jefferson Station eatery and tiki bar that's part of a Florida-based franchise. Beachy touches include a palm-lined waterfront mural, lifeguard chair and assorted surfboards. Try a thick, oozy half pound-Angus steakburger with Cheddar and applewood-smoked bacon, a side of fries, kettle chips or coleslaw.

Cost: $9.49

LT Burger in the Harbor,
62 Main St., Sag Harbor, 631-899-4646

A sense of summer pervades this new Hamptons venture from high-profile chef Laurent Tourondel. While waiting for a table in the white wainscoted dining room, hang out on a metal glider swing. Then, order the 7-ounce LT "backyard" cheeseburger topped with Mecox Cheddar, bacon and pickle-mayo. So good.
