Are you ready to taste 100 gallons of chili?

The West Sayville Fire Department hosts a chili cook-off on Saturday. It's a fundraiser to support construction of the Town of Islip Firefighters Museum & Education Center. Admission is $10 for anyone 12 years old or older.

All proceeds benefit the building project. Groundbreaking is expected this fall in Central Islip, across from Bethpage Ballpark, home of the Long Island Ducks baseball team.

Ten local fire departments are preparing 10 gallons each to vie for the "best chili" title. Star Industries of Syosset, known for Georgi Vodka, is a sponsor of the event. Martin Silver, Georgi's chief executive, is among the judges.

The chili contestants in the cook-off include fire departments from Brentwood, Bayport, Central Islip, Kings Park, West Sayville, Sayville, East Islip, Great River, Islip Town Fire Marshals and Firehouse Kitchen.

The Saturday cook-off is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Click here for more details.

The West Sayville Fire Department is at 80 Main St. in West Sayville.
