Soft shell crab enchiladas, crab cakes and zuppa di pesce will be on the menu of the casual chowder house soon to open in the former digs of 18 Bay in Bayville.
So says executive chef Billy Bob McLennan (who cooked at Jeff’s Seafood & Galley and the former Hook in Me Eye, both in East Northport), adding that the sign out front will be changed to read "Jeff’s Seafood & Chowder House." The place will be under the same co-ownership as Jeff’s Seafood, a retail fish market and takeout in Halesite.
Prices will be gentle, McLennan said, with most entrees running $12.95 to $18.95. The short and well-edited menu will be augmented by a blackboard roster of the day’s catch.
As you can see from the above photo, the exterior looks a lot more rustic than in the site's previous incarnation.
McLennan predicts an early May opening.
Jeff's Seafood & Chowder House will be at 18 Bayville Ave., Bayville, 516-628-0124
