The Meat House, the Long Island outpost of a New Hampshire-based butcher chain, has closed. A few weeks ago, a sign in the window said that a reorganization was in the offing, and a manager said that the shop’s future was still up in the air.

Now a notice on its Facebook page says, “It is with deep regret and sadness that we are closing our doors.”

Opened in January 2012, the Meat House sold a small selection of fresh seafood, produce, grocery and bakery items, deli and prepared food in addition to the eponymous meat. The butcher’s signature cut was the “steak tip,” a tender chunk from the bottom sirloin, which came marinated in about 20 different concoctions. The Korean kalbi tips were a favorite.
