Moules et Frites, Syosset’s Belgian-style bistro, will reopen as 516 Kitchen and American Grill. Moules had been a part of the Reststar Group, whose other restaurants include the bistro-themed Bistro Cassis in Huntington, Brasserie Cassis in Plainview, Bistro Citron in Roslyn and La P’tite Framboise in Port Washington as well as the Iberian-fusion Café Buenos Aires in Huntington.
Dean Kois, CFO of Reststar, said that his company was taking a backseat in 516 and that longtime restaurateur Michael Russo would be the managing partner.
Whereas Moules et Frites was a destination restaurant, Kois said, 516 would be more of a neighborhood place, with “a very diversified menu—sandwiches, burgers, salads, fish tacos, pasta and a lot of beers on tap.” He expects to be open by July.
516 Kitchen and American Grill will be at 4 Berry Hill Rd., Syosset, no phone yet.
