The vacant Main Street storefront that was, until recently, Sally’s Cocofe won’t be vacant for long. Nader Gebrin, chef-owner of Huntington’s Bravo! Nader, is turning it into a casual, reasonably priced fish restaurant to be called Nader Fish House.
Bravo! Nader diners know how passionate Gebrin is about fish. An avid fisherman himself, he has maritime contacts all over the Island — and the world — who regularly provide him with very special specimens. (If you are on Bravo! Nader’s mailing list you will have received plenty of e-mails over the years from Gebrin’s wife, Mary, alerting you to this mahi-mahi or that swordfish that has just landed in Bravo! Nader’s kitchen.)
Mary Gebrin told me that the new place will have a much lower price point than Bravo! Nader and that walk-ins will be welcome. There will also be a full bar in addition to beer and wine.
The Gebrins hope to open the restaurant by the end of August. Nader Fish House will be at 273 Main St., Huntington. Bravo! Nader is at 9 Union Place, Huntington, 631-351-1200.
