Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s is inviting one and all to Malverne on Friday, June 16, for an evening of sustainable agriculture and food truck fare.
Dinner will be provided by some of Long Island’s favorite food trucks. Among those scheduled to attend: Empanada Queen, Teriyaki Plus, Cheezy Pete’s (grilled cheese), Rudy’s Kitchen (salads and sandwiches), and Frozen Sin (inventive ice cream sandwiches and doughnuts). Lithology (Farmingdale) and Barnshed (Hicksville) breweries will be serving suds.
There will be live music from Cyndi Hazell Straight From The Heart Band and, for the kids, hay rides, pony rides, country games, face painting and a photo booth.
The price of admission is $5, and all proceeds benefit the farm, which was worked by the Grossmann family for more than 100 years until, in 2010, it was purchased by Nassau County. Now overseen by the nonprofit Nassau Land Trust, it is certified organic by NOFA-NY and is worked both by staff and volunteers.
Tickets can be purchased here.
The Food Truck Rodeo is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Crossroads Farm at Grossmann’s, 480 Hempstead Ave., Malverne, 516-881-7900.
