What a breath of fresh air is the restroom at Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Woodbury. I went to powder my nose during a recent lunch there and was struck by its near perfection.

The women's’ room was spotless, no stray toilet paper or paper towels on the floor. There were framed black-and-white portraits of Hollywood greats on the wall, and Dial in the liquid soap dispensers. The wheelchair-accessible facility was roomy, with bars in all the right places. It was evident that a lot of thought had gone into designing and furnishing the john, and management was making an ongoing commitment to keeping it in tiptop shape. My only complaint was the loud music being piped in. I think of the restroom as a sort of sanctuary; I don't want to be blasted with Dire Straits.

Anthony’s is at 8063 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, 516-367-2625. There’s another location at 137 Old Country Rd., Carle Place, 516-877-7750, but I have not had the pleasure of “resting” there.
