Get ready for lazy summer days and nights.
In a sign as sure as daffodils popping up, two classic, casual warm-weather restaurants are set for the season. Clam Bar in Amagansett, which is already open, and Duryea’s in Montauk, set to start serving April 14.
Clam Bar currently serves every day, starting at 11:30 a.m. The popular spot draws diners for its ample and excellent lobster-salad roll, steamed lobster, fried clams and clams on the half shell, Montauk Pearl oysters, steamers, New England-style clam chowder, spicy crab-and-sweet corn chowder, and Long Island beers. Clam Bar is a cash-or-check only destination.
Duryea’s Lobster Deck, Fish Market and Farmers Market will be open Thursday to Monday before Memorial Day, and every day after the holiday.
The seafood restaurant takes in both family-style and small-plate presentations. Duryea’s has long been a landmark for steamed lobster, clam bakes, and its raw-bar selections. The small plates include tuna tartare, crabcakes, baked clams, steamers and calamari.
Local seafood by the pound is sold at the Fish Market, as are sauces and condiments. The Farmers Market sells local artisanal products, from Mecox Bay Dairy cheese to Iacono Farms house-made barbecue and teriyaki sauces, Tate’s cookies to Sweet’tauk lemonade, and produce from Balsam and Satur farms.
