The annuals are growing in the Hamptons, while some perennials have perished.

Southamptonites are saying bonjour to Le Charlot, which is in the Main Street space long-occupied by Barrister's. They're also preparing to welcome Circo where Delmonico's has seared its last steak.

In East Hampton, the veteran Nichol's exited during the winter, replaced in spring by Winston's Bar & Grill. Highway Diner has given way to Highway Restaurant & Bar. And Georgica has given up its pond view forever. Osteria Salina has moved into the Wainscott spot, relocating from Bridgehampton, where its former address is vacant.

The Cuddy has poured its final drink in Sag Harbor, and will be replaced soon by Wolffer Kitchen, the first restaurant to be opened by an East End winery.

Banzai didn't make it along the Napeague stretch between Amagansett and Montauk. The barbecue-oriented @Bernie's is taking over the space.

In Montauk, the restaurants at Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa have changed after a single summer. Newcomers include the Italianate Scarpetta Beach and the all-American Tillie's. And toss a few flowers where The Coast used to be. But make them bright: Muse @ The End is coming to town.
