The 2012 Long Island Winterfest - Jazz on the Vine performances get under way this weekend at East End wineries.
Live jazz performances are slated for six weekends, through Sunday, March 18. The $15 entry fee at the wineries includes a glass of wine for visitors 21 and over and participation in a weekly drawing with such prizes as a gift basket of Long Island wines and a hotel stay on the East End.
The first performance is by the Christine Spero Group, at 1:30 p.m. at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard. It's followed by music at Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack, Clovis Point in Jamesport, Peconic Bay Winery in Cutchogue, Raphael in Peconic, Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue and the finale at 7 p.m. at Hotel Indigo in Riverhead.
Sunday's perfomances begin at 2 p.m. at Castello di Borghese in Cutchogue, where the David Amram Quartet is scheduled to perform.
