In honor of Father's Day, EAT Gastropub in Oceanside is staging a pig roast this Sunday, June 21,  from 3 to 7 p.m. At $30 a person, it's an all-you-can-eat affair and includes, in addition to spit-roasted pork, a roster of outdoor grill items such as hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage with peppers. Side dishes include tossed salad, potato salad and cole slaw. Dads will also get a free beer.

Seating, both indoors and on the well-appointed outdoor patio, is limited to 200, and already half is sold out.

The event might also be one way to get acquainted with the eatery's new chef, Gregory Baumel, who previously cooked at Half King in Manhattan and presided over the former Stone Turtle in Island Park. Baumel, who has been in EAT's kitchen for more than a month, said that his new menu should launch in the next week or so. He added that it will maximize the use of produce and herbs from the eatery's indoor garden. New dishes (which are being offered as specials) include roasted smoked pork belly with baby arugula ($10), an organic bison burger ($14), a salmon and crab burger ($15) and chipotle-apricot roasted chicken with spinach and a maple cheddar waffle ($17).

EAT Gastropub is at 2823 Long Beach Rd. Oceanside, 516-766-9547
