After last week’s forced march through Long Island’s top chocolate ice creams, I was compelled to take on another taxing assignment: Long Island’s top lobster specials. The story was published in today’s paper and already I have received e-mails alerting me to still more local lobster promotions:

On “lobster Thursdays,” Upper Crust Café (931 Franklin Ave., Garden City, 516-248-5677) serves a 2-pound lobster with salad, clam chowder, creamed corn and pesto-Parmesan fries.

The Whales Tails Seafood Bar & Grill (916 W. Beech St., Long Beach, 516-432-9587) runs a Thursday-night special: As many 1¼-pound lobsters as you can eat for $10 a lobster.

These are both great deals, and I see that it is indeed Thursday ….

Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse recently started offering a lobster special for lunch and dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. For $24.48, you get a 1¼-pound steamed Maine lobster with corn on the cob, choice of one side and unlimited access to the salad bar. There are Charlie Brown's in Commack (88 Veterans Memorial Hwy., 631-462-4206). Holtsville (45 Middle Ave., 631-289-3320) and Garden City Park (2349 Jericho Tpke., 516-294-7320).

Email us if you know of any other lobster specials.
