FRIDAY: WINE TIME Stew Leonard's will be pouring Sassicaia, one of Italy's great reds, at a tasting from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Farmingdale shop (Airport Plaza Boulevard). Piero Incisa della Rochetta, grandson of the estate's founder, will be there for questions and to autograph bottles of the "super-Tuscan" red wine. ADMISSION: Free. Info at 631-249-3611. Bottles from the St. Francis Winery will be uncorked at a tasting on Thursday, Aug. 5 to be held at Stew Leonard's Wines. Elizabeth Karmel, who has written a grilling guide in connection with the winery, will be at the session discussing pairing wines with grilled fare.

St. Francis Winery & Vineyards in Sonoma produces very good cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, zinfandel and chardonnay. Karmel is the author of  "St. Francis Girls' Guide to Grilling," a free, digital cookbook for StFSavortheflavor.com
