Three days into the week and Feed Me has already covered four restaurant closings (Gabrielle’s in RVC, Bistro du Village in Port Washington, Willie B. Parker’s and Nick and Charleys’, both in Williston Park), so it is a real pleasure to announce a restaurant opening.
Spotting the grand-opening pennants last night, I hung a dangerous left into the parking lot for dinner. Guacamole lacked richness: either it wasn’t made with hass avocados or it was extended with some non-avocado substance. The fish taco was forgettable, the fish tasting more of fry than fish. But all was forgiven as I launched into my voluptuous tongue taco, topped with a tomatillo salsa. It was terrific, and so was the chorizo taco, which I ordered with a particularly complex spicy salsa.
The place was neat and bright, the countermen were friendly, the bathroom was spotless.
