The two branches of Besito, Long Island's liveliest Mexican restaurant duet, plan to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some snappy specials and the regular flow of margaritas and Mexican brews.
On the May 5 menu in Huntington this year are enchilada de mariscos, or baked soft-corn tortillas with seafood and salsa ranchero; and carne Oaxaquena, or skirt steak marinated in beer and paired with cheese-capped sweet plantains.
The Roslyn eatery plans to offer camarones al ajillo, or pan-seared shrimp finished with garlic and white wine accompanied by guajillo chile atop sweet-plantain mash; and chuleton de res, a pan-seared strip steak topped with caramelized onions and set on tomato chile de arbol salsa.
Lunch starts at noon and dinner goes to 11 p.m.
Besito in Huntington is at 402 New York Ave.; 631-549-0100. In Roslyn: 1516 Old Northern Blvd.; 516-484-3001.
