En route from Banana Republic to Bloomingdale’s Furniture Gallery in Roosevelt Field, I took a short cut through the food court. I wasn’t planning on eating anything. Still, I was just a trifle hungry.
What I hadn’t bargained for was being plied with one sample after another. There were chicken fingers from Ranch 1, teriyaki chicken from Sakkio Japan, a chicken quesadilla from Sole Mex, bourbon chicken from Asian Chao and (my favorite), a strawberry-banana smoothie from Café Spice.
In the end, it didn’t add up to a balanced meal, but it sure did make for interesting (and free) snacking.
