Huntington: HONU uncorks "Wine Wednesdays"

HONU Kitchen & Cocktails, the New American eatery in Huntington, is adding fixed-price dinners with (and without) wine to its Wednesday repertoire in April.

The two-star restaurant uncorks the springtime series on April 7. A three-course menu paired with three wines is $44;  vinoless, $34.

HONU's first menu includes ahi tuna with tuna and sunchokes matched with a white wine from Friuli, the 2008 Ruffino Lumina Pinot Grigio. That's followed by hanger steak with a mushroom ragu and asparagus, offered with the 2007 "The Show" Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa; and chocolate-chunk bread pudding, with a Port from Sandemans.

On April 14, the dishes are cashew-crusted lamb "lollipops" presented with the 2008 Buena Vista Pinot Noir; mahi mahi with parsnip puree and chives, with the 2007 Geyser Peak Alexander Valley Chardonnay; and an apple crepe with vanilla gelato, along with a Mezzacorona Moscato.
