The temporarily closed Raagini in Baldwin will reopen Friday July 1 with nearly 60 seats, an expanded menu and a banquet room that can accommodate up to 100 guests.

It has been closed for about a month during the renovation.

Malti Bisht, the wife and partner of chef owner Ram Bisht, said the spirit of the place will remain the same. This is a good thing.

“You may end up feeling as if you’re eating in the home of someone who cares about feeding you well — and attentively,” said outgoing Newsday critic Joan Reminick in last year’s review.

Raagini opened in Baldwin in 2014 as a small North Indian restaurant with dishes such as aloo tiki, or deep-fried potato patties ($6), tandoori quail ($9 appetizer; $14 main course), lamb biryani ($14), chicken tikka masala ($12) and a Goan fish curry ($16). When it opens this weekend, the menu will offer a few plates from South India as well as Indo-Chinese dishes.

Raagini’s sibling is Tandoor Grill in Long Beach that opened in April 2015.

Raagini is located at 924 Atlantic Ave., Baldwin, 516-608-5578, raagininy.com; Tandoor Grill is located at 1042 West Beech St., Long Beach,516-766-4440, tandoorgrillny.com
