The fourth annual chili cook-off to benefit the League for Animal Protection of Huntington is slated for Sunday, April 3 at The Lark Pub & Grub in East Northport.
A donation of $10 will be collected to aid the animal-welfare organization. Last year, the fundraiser took in $8,500.
More than 40 contestants already have signed up for the competition, said Tim Kelly, owner of The Lark. The admission fee allows contributors to taste any and all of the chili from the cooks. In addition to the chili, expect raffles plus prizes for the winning versions of chili.
The event will start at 1 p.m. and will go till about 5 p.m. The Lark, one of Long Island’s top craft-beer bars, has 26 beers on tap. Attendees must pay separately for the beers.
