Be on the lookout for local escargot. In case you missed it, Long Island now has its very own snail farm.

Less luxurious, more utilitarian fare like breakfast is the star meal at the new Lynbrook Eats. And Thyme on Your Side in Bethpage is also whisking eggs and frying up bacon for a new breakfast menu, with a focus on egg sandwiches. If it’s not big enough for you, there’s always the Egg-Normous burrito, now available at Burger King.

Among closings, there’s Cue Nine in Levittown and Blue Canoe in Greenport. Meanwhile, Jean-Georges Vongerichten announced he’s opening a restaurant on Fire Island, his second in progress on Long Island, and The Arbor will replace Ciao by the Beach in Montauk.

And speaking of luxurious, fine dining critic Peter M. Gianotti awards North Fork Table and Inn a coveted three and a half stars.
