Meat is the star of the party on Saturday, Oct. 15, when LI Pour House in Port Jefferson Station hosts the Long Island BBQ Classic, an outdoor barbecue festival in conjunction with 102.3 WBAB.

Matt Kourie, who organized the festival, is co-founder of The New York Best Wings Festival Championships and the NY Cocktail Expo. Joining him are Joe Festinger of LI Pour House, Matt Vascellaro of Matty Smokes BBQ & Catering in Long Beach, Jonathan Levine of Smoke Shack Blues BBQ in Port Jefferson and celebrity chef Marc Anthony Bynum — champion of “Chopped” on Food Network and restaurateur of Hush Bistro and Soup-or-Hero Kitchen in Farmingdale.

Entry tickets are $10 for general admission and $25 for VIP, which allows early entry, access the craft beer self-serve pouring station and festival schwag.

Otherwise it’s pay as you go for sodas and beers, as well as brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs and more. The event is billed as kid-friendly and includes a bounce house, face painting, cotton candy and snow cones. 102.3 WBAB provides tunes.
